| KB, a cyclist, was "struck down" by a virus in June 2001. He was so dizzy he could not walk or eat. He was so nauseated, he became dehydrated and spent 4 days in the hospital after losing 25 pounds. He was given IV's and sent him home. He had paralysis of his face and hearing loss in one ear. The call for prayers went out. He, slowly, was able keep Jell-O and Gatorade down. In a week he began eating a little soup, but still remained in bed most of the time. All summer long he improved slowly and was able to resume his teaching job in September. He had a hard time the first two months, just staying up all day for his teaching job. He ate good food and got a lot of sleep during the school year. He began walking short distances and slowly extended his walks. The healing process continued through 2002 and now in 2003 he has just ridden 150 miles on his bicycle for Multiple Sclerosis. He got over $1,000 in pledges for the ride and has his ‘life’ back. |
