| A VALENTINE FROM THE GRAVE FOR MY WIFE, MARGY
If I could reach through the veil And touch your face, I would. If I could hold you in sweet embrace, I’d kiss you if I could. Know that I am with you Each and every day. And that I hear the words you speak Every time you pray. It isn’t for me to say’’ Who stays and who shall go; But please don’t live you life In looking back with woe. For life is for the living, As both you and I are. Remember, I didn’t die— And I didn’t go too far. I’ll always be right by your side Just as you were there for me. With your loving, happy thoughts You can set me free. Look to God and lift your face And gaze up at the sun. You’ll feel my love in those rays; Your new life has begun. Thank yourself for all the good And kindness that you’ve done. Give yourself a pat on the head; What a great race you’ve run. Be kind to your self, like you are to others. Turn away from sorrow and strife. For I love you now, as I did then, When you first became my wife. Received by Rev. Betty Tatalajski for her sister-in-law, Margy, on June 16, 1997. |
