| ANGEL FRIENDS
By Bill Salter (submitted by Rev. Diane Powell) This is a note to my angel friends. Thank you for your prayers that didn’t end, With your loving help and special deeds I must tell you that my heart bleeds. There is pain again; illness has raised its ugly head. Now I’m told there is no hope, that’s what the doctors said. I ask once more if you angels could help, It’s more than I deserve; however, I would accept. See, you already know my friend through prayer and thought, He’s been down this awful road this illness has brought. You gave him more time because you all would pray, It’s been more than a year from then till today. Sure he was in a hospital and had medical assistance, But I know it was your prayers and persistence. I believe in you angels and what you already have done, Your caring and sharing shows you’re representing Number ONE. If it’s time for my friend to travel on, I now realize it’s a decision from the Throne. He won’t have the pain and suffering anymore, Maybe now he will be allowed to go through that door. When he gets to Heaven, and I know that he will, He will call all your names and sing God’s praise Because of your prayers that gave extra days. We spent some time not long ago, he came to talk to me Sharing our thoughts about good times to be, And there will be good times, not sad times or pain Cause we both knew we have everything to gain. We all are dying a little each day, It should be realized, each time that we pray. Now in my prayers I ask for his safe ride home, He will be an asset to the man on the throne. He is good and honest as much as you would hope, Just a good Christian, not exactly the Pope. All of your help for this past year, With me and my friends will always be endeared. Thank you Diane for your thoughts and prayers It will mean so much as he goes up those stairs. And Kris, thanks, he knows your laugh, I’m sure that sound more than cuts his pain in half. And special prayers that came from Ellen Are more than enough to get him to Heaven |
