| SOUL ASTROLOGY Rev. Nora Allen ARIES The first sign of the zodiac, Aries, is pioneering, progressive, ambitious and the leader. In this sign we find the beginnings of things, be they personal, local, national, international or cosmic. Aries is the sign of a new cycle and it marks the vernal equinox and the new life of spring. Aries is energetic, self-confident, frank, courageous and perhaps a little rash at times. It is ruled by the head. Self restraint, calmness, poise and consideration for others feelings are not the virtue of Aries souls, unless they have worked with themselves for the sake of soul growth. In Aries, the animal nature must become tamed and controlled, so that the Christ may take up residence in the soul. They must work to gain a fully controlled direction of their focus through a knowledge of life and true awareness of themselves as beings of soul and spirit, temporarily living in a body. Aries, taking the higher path, purifies thinking and raises thought power toward truth. Their road of approach to spirit is rocky, and it takes a strong will to be a pilgrim on the path. The apostle Peter, the pioneer for Christ was supposedly an Aries. He was an example that it is the purpose of life and the need of all men to become Christ-conscious, which means building that bridge from the lower, earthy brain-bound man to his higher being. |
